Outlook add or remove a signature or stationary
The intent of this solution is to guide you to adding or removing a signature or stationary in Outlook. A signature can help you ensure that you sign off consistently. Custom stationary or stationary themes change the behaviour of email text and background. This can be a problem when trying to maintain a consistent email format when communicating with internal or external people.
The scope of this document covers Outlook on Windows
Lakes Signature
Your Lakes signature title should match your title in Human Resources. If in an acting position or your conditions are different (e.g. Part time) this can appear in your Lakes signature and you should contact the Helpdesk to help resolve this or other title issues.
Outlook Signature
To Add, Remove or Change the Outlook signature or stationary follow these steps:
From a new email
1. Click New Email button
2. Click signature on the Message ribbon bar
3. Click Signatures
Create or remove signatures as required
In this example two signatures have been created one for Standard or normal sign off and one for a Student sign off.
Example of a suitable signature when sending an email or replying to a student
Default signature
Your default signature can be set and you can change the signature in your email before sending. See further into this article..
Add signature to your email
You can add your sign off with ease when before sending the email.
In Outlook for Windows while in the New Email window, click Signature and select your desired signature.
Signatures can be changed at any time before sending.
Stationary
It is best to leave the stationary as default or no theme. This can be difficult when the recipient replies to your email. A theme once set in an email will be follow in subsequent replies.
Change to the Personal Stationary tab under Signatures. Follow the steps to get to signature.
If you need text to be larger the stationary does not need to be changed. Text size can be changed in display settings of Windows.
